The process

2D Tube laser cutting is powerd by a laser resonator where a laser beam [1] is created and is then directed to the cutting head [2] where it is focused through a lens [3.] during the cutting process. The laser beam is focused in the workpiece and heats up, melts and partially evaporates the material to create the cut. The melt that occurs during the cutting is blown away by the cutting gas.
The shear gas protects the lens against splashes from the cutting zone and also keeps the laser beam free from vapors that might otherwise be able to absorb the laser beam.
In this method, the cutting head is controlled by 2 axes in combination with the workpiece being fed throug and rotated by the chuck.
