Termisk sprutning är samlingsnamn för olika metoder där man belägger ytan på ett arbetsstycke med ett lager metall, keram, karbid eller polymer. Utgångsmaterialet kan vara tråd eller pulver som hettas upp och slungas mot arbetsstyckets yta där den fäster genom den höga rörelseenergin och värmen.

Flame spraying

Process Surface coating method in which a metal is melted in a flame spray gun and then spray coats the substrate.

Gas dynamic cold spray (GDCS)

Process Coating method where a powder using supersonic gas jet is thrown against the workpiece and is attached by plastic deformation.

High Velocity Oxygen Fuel coating, HVOF

Process Surface coating method where a powder partially or fully melted as it’s sprayed by a High Velocity Oxygen Fuel flame coats the workpiece.

Plasma spraying

Process Surface coating method in which plasma is used for melting and spraying a powder onto the workpiece that is coated.

Powder metal combustion spraying

Process Surface coating method where a powder is melted in a flammable gas mixture and thrown against the workpiece surface.

Wire arc spray coating

Process Surface coating method in which two wires are melted by an electric arc and ejected by compressed air.
