The process

A powder [1] carried by nitrogen gas is pushed through a center nozzle surrounded by a nozzle carrying a mixed gas [2], usually oxygen that feeds the flame in the process. A third nozzle [3] enclosing these two, creates compressed air through an air envelope around the flame. At the nozzle where all mixtures meet, the combustible gas powder is ignited and partially or fully melted. The high flames occur and simultaneously throws the powder at a high speed towards the surface to be coated.
