The process

The workpiece is fed between a regulatory wheels [1] and a grinding wheel [2], usually conical, which is inclined to create a force that can pull in the workpiece between the wheels so that no feeding mechanism is needed. When the workpiece is drawn into and rubbed between the wheels it reaches the end stop [3] that stops and reverses the process.
