Grinding

CNC Round grinding

Process Commonly used method for grinding where the workpiece is held in a chuck and then rotated against a spinning wheel that moves laterally and axially to achieve the desired shape and surface.

Diamond slurry grinding

Process Abrasive treatment where the workpiece placed in a container and pressed against a rotating disc with diamond particles in the surface.

Drag finishing

Process Polishing process where multiple workpieces are dragged through a vessel with abrasive chip.

End-feed centerless grinding

Process Abrasive treatment where the workpiece is fed between a grinding wheel and a regulating wheel until workpiece strikes an end stop and is then fed back.

Free Abrasive Lapping

Process Abrasive treatment where an abrasive paste is rubbed onto the surface using a rotating lapping tools.

In-feed centerless grinding

Process Abrasive treatment where the workpiece is first placed in its working position, and a grinding wheel is then applied radially against the workpiece. Typically used to create a complex surface.

Inside diameter grinding

Process Grinding process where a tool shapes the internal surface of a cylindrical workpiece.

Mechanical fine honing

Process Abrasive treatment where an oscillating grindstone is pressed against a rotating workpiece to create a very fine finish.

Mechanical honing

Process Abrasive treatment with a tool made out of a number of abrasive stone rotating against the walls of a hole.

Plane grinding

Process Grinding method to create a flat surface on a workpiece using a rotating grinding wheel that removes parts of the material.
