Round bending of profiles

Bending processing in which the profile is fed past profiled pressure rollers resulting in a continuous bend.

The process

The workpiece is placed on top of the two lower rolls [1]. An upper roll [2] depresses the profile between the two rollers. This causes a plastic deformation, bending of the workpiece. The rollers are profiled to fit the specific profile which counteracts deformation of the cross section. The profile is then fed through the process by the driven rolls and bent in this way continuously. This is repeated till the desired radius is achieved.
A varied radius can be achieved by CN-Controlled rolling.
