Roll bending of tubes and profiles

Bending process in which a profile is pushed past the contoured rollers which results in a continuous bend.

The process

Workpiece, in this case a tube, is pushed past a number of rollers where the roller radius [1] in conjunction with counteracting rolls creates a bending force which leads to plastic deformation . The angle of the steering roller [2] controls the final bend radius. All the rolls are profiled according to the workpiece to prevent deformation of the cross section. By changing the roller position during the process, bent profiles with continuously varying bending radius is created. In some cases, the profile is also rotated to create three dimensional bends.
