Non-destructive testing

Eddy Current Testing, ET

Process Testing method for materials where a coil is charged with an alternating current to create eddy currents, which differ and indirectly detects when there is a defect in the material surface.

Hydrostatic pressure test

Process Test method where the material is pressurized by a liquid for possible defects to be detected by the possible deformations that occur adjacent to the defects.

Magnetic Particle Testing, MT

Process Testing method where the material is magnetized and coated with a ferromagnetic powder to detect defects at and just below the surface.

Penetrant testing, PT

Process Testing method for materials that utilize a penetrant and then a developer to identify any cracks in the surface of the material.

Radiographic Testing, RT

Process Testing method for materials where an X-ray beam is directed at the material to detect internal defects.

Shore test

Process Testing method for materials where a durometer measures the elasticity to calculate the hardness of the material.

Ultrasonic Testing, UT

Process Testing method for materials where ultrasonic waves are transmitted and bounces back to a receiver that reads and detects internal defects.
