The process

Before processing can begin the work should have been cleaned with an alkaline solution to remove dirt and oils from its surface. Workpiece surface should also be activated.

The part to be treated is immersed in a heated bath of phosphoric acid. By conversion coating a surface is created with increased corrosion resistance and a surface structure which is advantageously active with lacquering. Impact resistance is also enhanced by this process.
