Box-and-Pan Brake

Process in which the sheet is clamped to the work table with an upper wedge-shaped clamping bar while a rotating part bends plate.

The process

The workpiece is placed on a stationary flat work table [1] and clamped by a wedge-shaped clamping bar [2]. The rotating part of the edge of the bending leaf [3] are lifted and rotated around the tip of the clamping bar so that the sheet is bent by plastic deformation. Bending angles up to 120 degrees can often be achieved. As the clamping bar is divided, you can bend boxes with already partially bent sides by using the bending leaf.
