Extrusion

Direct extrusion

Process Extrusion operation where an ingot is pushed through a die.

Direct hollow extrusion

Process Extrusion process in which a piston with a mandrel, presses an ingot through a die and creates a hollow component.

Hydrostatic extrusion

Process Extrusion process in which an ingot surrounded by a liquid is pushed through a die.

Impact extrusion

Process Extrusion process in which a punch hits the ingot placed in a mold, so that the ingot assumes the shape of the mold and is extruded up the side of the punch.

Indirect extrusion

Process Extrusion process in which a hollow die is pushed through a pressure chamber toward an ingot which is pushed back through the center of the die into a solid rod.

Indirect hollow extrusion

Process Extrusion process in which a moving chamber pushes an ingot on a stationary die for creating a hollow component.
