The process

A: A heated model of the finished cast product is mounted on a heat-resistant box filled with a special resin-bonded sand.

B: The box is turned upside down so that the sand falling on the model due to the result of the heating, sticks and form a sandy shell with the same pattern as the model.

C: The box is turned back up so the excess sand will drain.

D: The process is repeated for the second mold half after which both model shells are placed in an oven to harden the shells that are subsequently removed from the models

E: The shell halves are assembled, placed in a new vessel which is then filled with sand to support the shell halves during molding.

F: Molten metal is then poured into the mold that is removed after solidification.
