The workpiece that acts as a cathode and the surface coating agent who acts as the anode is connected to a power source and immersed in a solution. This solution consists either of a mixture of soluble organic additives or of atomized insoluble particles. It is added as emulsified liquid additives to give the surface a certain desired consistency.
