The process

A molten metal is poured into the preheated lower mold [1]. The upper mold [2] is lowered and pressurized by a pressing force with the result that the melt assumes the shape of the molds. The pressure of about 100 MPa is retained until the melt has solidified.

The upper mold is then removed and the finished part is pushed out by means of ejectors [3].
