The process

The mold [1], usually made of rubber or wax, consisting of two or more repeated details evenly distributed around the mold vertical center axis. While the mold is rotated at high speed the melt is supplied through an inlet in the center of the mold. The centrifugal forces arising lead melt into the mold periphery where the individual detail forms are filled.

The pressure that arises is advantageous for good filling of the molds and any gas bubbles and contaminants of lower density than the molten metal end closer to the center of rotation. This results in a finished part with higher density and fewer defects.
