The process

A smooth template [1] with the engraved pattern acts as an ink pad for a color coater [2] which spreads paint along the surface, filling the engraving with paint. Depending on the shape of the object to be stamped, the pattern may be distorted to appear right after stamping. A pad [3] of silicon rubber is pressed against the template, and a majority of the ink is thus transferred to the pad.

The pad is then pressed against the object to be printed. Thanks to the pad’s flexibility, it conforms to the object's surface. Multiple templates can be used with additional prints with other colors added to the previous print.
