Chip-breaking process of teeth inclined through an angle, the cutting tool rotates against the inner side of a rotating workpiece.

The process

Cutting tool with angled inserts rotate around an axis that is angled towards the axis of rotation of the workpiece. Tool peripheral speed is the same as for inner surface of the workpiece. The inclination makes the tool cutting have a scarfing axial motion of the workpiece inner diameters as they rotate together. The rotation is in progress while the utility move radially and axially until the teeth are completed.
