The process

A polymer mixture [1] is heated and fed between two rotating main calenders [2]. The pulp is pressed to a rough thickness [3] and is then rolled by subsequent rollers to the desired thickness.

Advantages and disadvantages
In comparison with alternative methods
Best quality plastic sheets
Adapted for heat-sensitive polymers
Good opportunity to mix with solid additives
Cost Saving Opportunities for raw materials
Holes or voids may occur for workpieces thinner than 0.15mm
Risk of air pockets
